Today is our 10th wedding anniversary!
If you’d told me 11 years ago that I would have been married within a year, I would’ve called you crazy. But, life has a funny habit of throwing curveballs, and truth be told, I wouldn’t even be able to hit an underarm pitch, let alone a curveball. Anyway, here we are; 10 years of married life, and whilst we've had some ups and downs over the years, we've ridden all the waves, and are just as strong today, if not more so, than we were in 2014.
Here's to at least another 10 years!

Redundancy
I started my current job, well, not exactly my current job, rather a job with my current employer, on September 16th 2013. I've progressed from that original position of Security Operative to Fulfilment Centre Administrator, IT Assistant, First Line IT Support, just IT Support (1st and 2nd line) and finally Systems Engineer.
Unfortunately, that's all going to come to a halt in January 2023; the 16th is the likely date, which would be 9 years and 4 months to the day. Our main client has elected to move their business from Cumbria to another Fulfilment Centre in Devon. The existing contract and employees are transferring to the new employer under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) regulations. However, since the new employer is in Devon and we are settled in Cumbria I have no interest in uprooting and moving, so after the TUPE transfer I'll probably, in fact almost certainly, be made redundant.
I've thoroughly enjoyed my job over the last 9 years; I've learned a lot and developed my skill set, and have made some great friends.

Illness
Apparently, I'm a grumpy bastard when I'm ill... according to my wife, anyway! Although, she did say that to put things into context, I rarely get ill; well, ill enough to incapacitate me.
I've been ill pretty much all week and it got to the stage where I went to bed at 6:30pm on Wednesday, finished work early on Thursday and went to bed at 1pm and spent all of Friday in bed. I'm still not feeling great, but I am better than I was. Hopefully, taking things easy today and tomorrow will have me back on my feet fully by time work comes around on Monday morning.
