About Me: Computers & Consoles

Full Name:-
Stuart Robert Andrew Bowers
'Bowch' to my friends.

My Computer History:-
Kreios, an AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz Black Edition 'Deneb' 45nm based system and Mercury, an Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 based Dell Studio 1737 laptop are my 2 main PCs these days. My desktop PC and laptop are both currently running Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I intend to eventually reinstall Ubuntu in a dual-boot configuration back onto the laptop at some point. I also still have an AMD Athlon 1800+, called Opal, and an Intel Pentium III 500, which is sat in pieces but would run fine if reassembled. Opal is currently running Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3.

Since the summer of 1981 I have used a Commodore PET, a Sinclair ZX81, a Research Machines 380Z, an Acorn Electron, a BBC Master, an Acorn Archimedes and a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A. I have also owned a Sinclair Spectrum 16k, 48k, 128k and Plus 3, an Acorn Electron, a BBC Micro Model B, a Goldstar MSX, an Oric Atmos, an Amstrad CPC464, a Commodore VIC-20, a Commodore 64,a Commodore Amiga 500, 600 and 1200, an Intel Pentium 120, Pentium II 333 and Pentium III 500, an AMD Athlon 1333, Athlon XP 2800+, 3000+ and 3200+, an Athlon 64 X2 4200+ and a XP-M 2400+ HP Compaq NX9005 laptop.

My Console History:-
The first console that I owned was a Sega Mega Drive, and I have since owned a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), Nintendo 64, a Sony Playstation and an XBox.

I currently own a Gamecube, Playstation 3 and XBox 360 Elite and I don't really see a need to buy a Wii just yet; although I probably will at some point.

Hidden Gems:-
A good search of the house and shed would probably turn up a Sega Mega Drive, 3 Nintendos (NES, SNES and N64), a Sony PS1 and PS2, a Spectrum, an MSX, an Oric Atmos, an Acorn Electron, a BBC Micro Model B, an Amstrad CPC464, a Commodore VIC-20, a Commodore 64, 3 Amigas (500, 600 and 1200) and a 386-based PC.
