Dave Arneson may not be as well known as Gary Gygax, but his name is equally important in the development of D&D. It was Arneson who helped transfom Gygax's game Chainmail into what would become the first edition of Dungeons & Dragons. Late Tuesday night Mr Arneson lost his battle with cancer; he was 61.
