Jon Lester threw a no-hitter last night as the Boston Red Sox beat the Kansas City Royals 7-0. Lester, who missed the end of the 2006 season after he was diagnosed with a rare form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, threw 130 pitches to complete his first ever MLB complete game. It was the first no-hitter in the majors since Clay Buchholz threw one last September; also for the Red Sox, against the Baltimore Orioles.
