By Celtic were crowned champions of Scotland for the third consecutive season this evening thanks to a 1-0 win away at Dundee United. Rangers, who had started the night level on points but with a 4 worse goal difference, lost 2-0 at Aberdeen. For long periods of the season Rangers had been in pole position but a couple of poor results handed the advantage to Celtic, and they refused to let it slip.
