My dog, Tasha, is not well.
She's listless and very unsteady on her feet. She's spent most of last night and today lying on the carpet near the door through to the kitchen and just doesn't seem to be bothered. Normally if you ask her if she wants out it's a race to the back door; today she hasn't even been bothering to lift her head off the carpet.
She's drinking very little and has only ate 1 bowl of food since Sunday; even then that was overnight on Sunday. I think she may have had a few mouthfuls of the food I left down for her last night but it's hard to be sure.
In fact, Sunday night and last night I had to spoon-feed her baby food. Well more a case of getting some on my finger and depositing it on her tongue where her natural reflex kicks in to clean it off and she swallows it.
Anway, I've got her booked in to see the vet just after 5pm this evening. With her advanced age; she's 17, and the fact that she suffered a stroke in late 2005, I'm not too optimistic.
I was supposed to be having a job interview this afternoon for the local hospital but this is more important.

The vet's rather concerned with her. She's got an enlarged liver; possibly due to a tumour; and she's sorely dehydrated.
He's kept her in over night, put her on a drip and is going to check her blood.
I've got to contact them at 9am tomorrow morning.
Apparently, she's showed signs of minor improvement overnight. Blood tests indicate her liver and kidney are failing. It's not looking good.
He's keeping her in overnight again to try and flush all the toxins out of her system to give a better idea of where to go next.
