Within Temptation

Was in Glasgow last night to see Within Temptation.

Supposed to be 6 of us going. Colin, Scoot & myself in one car and Craig, Stuart and Paul in another. In the end only 5 of us went, and even then, there's a story to tell...

Craig set off about 3:30pm and since Scoot wasn't feeling too good, Colin and I set off from his at 4pm and got to the venue in Glasgow about 6:45pm. Craig still wasn't there. Phoned them whilst in the queue and they said that they were less than 2 miles away. By time we got to the doors at 7:15pm they still hadn't arrived, phoned them again and they had managed to get lost so I gave Colin his ticket and arranged to wait outside for them.

Phoned them a few more times leading up to 9pm and they were still lost and having trouble with their sat-nav telling them to go down non-existent streets. Although, they did manage to find the venue we saw Within Temptation at previously.

Anyway, having already missed "The 69 Eyes" who Colin described as rather wishy-washy, the doors were getting closed and I had to abandon Craig et al and get in myself. Anyway, 3 songs in, I got a text message saying that they were outside. Popped downstairs and the door staff were nice enough to open up and let them in.

Within Temptation were absolutely brilliant and Sharon den Adel looked damned stunning in her red basque-like top and short black skirt. I thought the white see-through dress she wore at Donington was good but the basque left nothing to the imagination.

Whilst outside waiting I'd been asked if I was a huge fan and admitted that whilst I was a fan I wasn't a huge fan but I must admit whenever I've seen them live, even with PA problems and time constraints they have never disappointed. I'd now definitely rate them in my top five bands; alongside Rammstein, Lacuna Coil, Slayer and Nightwish.

Even the cold and pouring rain whilst waiting for Craig didn't spoil the night. As mentioned, they were brilliant, and I will definitely be looking forward to their next tour; although, next time, I'll give people their tickets before we set off.

69 eyes weren't much cop. Sharon was out of this world, and the way the band moved around the stage was fascinating. One thing that I keep repeating was Robert: (accented)"yoo kan klap, yoo kan bounsse, but kan YOO SSING?"
