Tasha, my dog, had a stroke over the weekend.
She's 14 years old and I've been dreading the fact that we may need to get her put down; to ease any suffering she may be experiencing. Anyway, my sister took her to the vet yesterday and was told that we need to keep an eye on her and try and get her some quiet and not exercise her too much. The vet wanted her to go back today for another look, with the possibility that she may get put down if it wasn't good. Arranged to get home early enough to take her myself and gladly the vet has doubled her dose of steroids and told us to keep an eye on her and take her back next week. Hopefully, the steroids will help her on the road to recovery.
My only concern now is that she's not eating meat or drinking water; but, she is eating rice pudding and drinking milk.

That is one of the worse things things with old dogs, besides not being able to teach them new tricks. I hope she is improving now mate. Look on the bright side though, there is only 2 months to the end of what can only be one of the sh!te$t years for you. My thoughts are with you.
