Entertainment Weekly, not likely...

I was thinking that my life seems to consist of getting up in the morning, going to work, coming home, doing nothing much, going to bed, sleeping, getting up in the morning, going to work, coming home, doing nothing much, going to bed, sleeping, ad infinitum. But, recently, I've managed to do a few things.

I went to see "The Day After Tomorrow" on Friday night; and it was thoroughly enjoyable, a bit preachy in places, but the special effects blew me away. Haven't got round to seeing "Troy" yet; might do that tomorrow. I also caught "Van Helsing" when it was on and enjoyed that too; although it felt like they had missed an opportunity somewhere. There's quite a few films to look forward to this summer; "Spiderman 2", "I, Robot" and "Alien vs Predator" to name just 3.

TV-wise I caught the end of Friends, which tied things up nicely, and the "Joey" spin-off looks like it could be fun. I also caught the end of Season 3 of "Alias"; which as usual didn't seem to resolve anything, and combined with the news that ABC will not broadcast Season 4 until January 2005, leaves one feeling a bit flat about the show. End of Season 3 of "Enterprise" nicely tied up the Xindi story arc but has left us with a cliffhanger going in to Season 4. I'm going to watch the last episode of "Angel" after roleplaying tonight and have been enjoying the first season of "Tru Calling", which has happily been granted a second season. I originally only started watching it because Eliza Dushku stars but as the series has progressed the storylines have grabbed me too. I'll have to see if I can find episodes of "The Dead Zone" which I've seriously fallen behind with; it's just had a third season confirmed too. Pixie has mentioned "Wonderfalls" a few times in passing and I'll have to get round to watching some of them to see what it's like. But with Alias and Enterprise coming to the ends of their current runs and Angel finishing I'm at a loss of what to watch next..

The big TV event in the UK at the moment is "Big Brother", which I can honestly say has never grabbed me. The first 4 series passed me by without any interest on my part, and series 5 will be the same. Really don't see the appeal of these so-called reality shows.

Just finished reading my Belgariad and Mallorean collections and am now looking for new stuff to read. Luckily I've got an Anne Rice book to read before having to seriously look at something else, but with driving now I hardly get any chance to read anymore.

A bit of a meandering entry... Oh well!
