My TV is bust...
Well, the blue seems to flitter in and out with a mind of it's own. Luckily, however, it's still covered by the extended service plan I got when I purchased it back in November 1999. To be honest, I don't actually watch much TV; but, that's not to say that the TV isn't switched on more often than not. It's usually on as background to the clacking of my PC's keys. Usually on either a music channel or one of the news channels. Anyway, it's getting collected tomorrow for repairs, so will be without TV for at least a week, unless I can borrow a portable off my folks or something.
Oh, on another note, I thought my router problem had been solved. DLink emailed me a PDF file containing instructions on disabling the DNS Proxy on the router, which apparently can cause random lockups on a small percentage of routers. Plugged my router back in and tried that; all seemed well, so I went out roleplaying. Came home, and it's gone belly up again. Will have to phone them again in the morning and this time I'm going to demand a replacement, probably even ask for an advanced replacement, which is part of the service they advertise as offering to router owners in the event of a failure. The damned thing just won't accept any kind of sustained load, and as such is totally useless for the purpose it was purchased. Even my NetGear DM602 modem is better use at the moment, and that's not saying a lot, because it's absolutely pants anyway.
Oh well, moan over..
