By As mentioned previously I've finally passed my driving test and have been looking at options.
I'd previously looked at buying a brand new car and had given serious consideration to the Ford Focus. However, I then thought that buying a brand new car straight off the bat might not be too good an idea, especially for a rather nervous new driver. So, I started looking at suitable alternates in the second hand market and had more or less settled on a car with a N or perhaps P plate.
After quite a bit of searching nothing really appealed to me and I started looking at the Focus again, with particular emphasis on the estate versions for the boot space; my dad is in a wheelchair and the standard Focus just doesn't have a large enough boot. Then I discovered the Ford Focus C-MAX, which is basically a small MPV, and hence has a much larger boot than the standard Focus.
The nice thing is that it's currently on special offer too.
So, anyway, I took one for a test drive today; the 2.0 TDCi version, mainly because it was the only one in the range that the garage had in stock, and was much impressed by it. Enough so that I've placed an order for the 1.8 16v Zetec. Now, all I have to do is wait 4-6 weeks and then I'll be driving my new car.
Pity the pubmeet is only 2 weeks away...
