One Hundred And Eighty!!! Ahem, sorry, not quite...

As can be seen by the date of the previous post, I'm always full of good intentions, but very short on actually being able to deliver on a regular basis.

You spend over 170GBP on a DVDR/RW drive and you should expect it to work right? Wrong. Well, not quite, it'll read CDs and DVDs, but burn anything, you have to be kidding... After much delving with ASPI drivers, Nero, Roxio, CDRWin and Clone installations, uninstallations and reinstallations I thought I was going to have to bite the bullet and reinstall. However, I came across a website that indicated my new drive has been media locked by the manufacturer and only certain brands of media work in it, and as you can no doubt guess, I don't have any of the particular brands. Anyway, I have now ordered some of these branded media, at a slightly inflated cost over the media I normally purchase, and await their arrival. Will it help? Yeah, right, call me a pessimist, but I have my doubts...

Anyway, got the coming weekend off work and will be attending a LAN part on Saturday, much fragging will be had. We'll probably end up playing Half Life, Quake 3 Arena, Unreal Tournament and Battlefield 1942. There's also a possibilty that some people may want to try Unreal Tournament 2003, Vietcong, C&C Generals and Freelancer. We'll probably also have a bit of a play with Crimson Skies, not brilliant but fun...
