By Just read mcphee's blog and discovered that Averil has sold the Sutton Park.
For those not in the know, that's the hotel we use when we all meet up in Blackpool for Quest meets. It's not going to be the same without her and her brilliant Cottage Pie. I suppose it's a bit early to discover what's happening with regards to the November meets. They also hold Beyond, Phoenix and Everquest meets in the same venue. Hopefully, the new management will honour our booking and we can proceed much as is.
There's a new GAME store just opened in Workington, it's about 10 mile or so away and is one of the two main towns in the local area, along with Whitehaven. Anyway, had the day off work today, in preparation to work 8 days on the bounce, and decided to take advantage and popped in to buy some games. There wasn't much on the Gamecube or Playstation 2 to tempt me and I still don't want to fork out about 150GBP for an X-Box, so ended up looking at PC games and was tempted to buy Neverwinter Nights and the Shadows Of Udrentide expansion, but was not willing to pay 50GBP for it, so will look on Amazon etc later. Ended up buying Black & White, Diablo II Lord Of Destruction expansion, Fallout 2, Settlers IV & Star Trek Starfleet Command III. Came to 40GBP in total, so quite a bargain. Then popped next door and bought a Celtic away shirt and a new Manchester United jacket. That's bound to invoke derision in mcphee, who's a stauch scouse fan. I'll have to send him some funny pictures I've got.
Oh, and selected my team for the forthcoming Telegraph Fantasy Football. Chose the following players: Goalkeeper: B. Friedel (BLA), J. Woodgate (NEW), W. Bridge (SOT, now CHE), S. Finnan (LIV), D. Irwin (WOL), R. Giggs (MUN), S. Davies (TOT), D. Dunn (BIR), T. Henry (ARS), R. van Nistelrooy (MUN) and T. Sheringham (POR) for a total of 50million GBP. Season starts August 16th.
