By It's been a week since my last entry and to be honest it's been a really long week. It's not even as if I've had a really busy week that I can reveal details of, it's just been once of those weeks where the days seem to merge in to one another. I'd orginally thought that I could take advantage of Amanda's holiday and try to catch up on a few things. I should have known that was never going to happen.
My days have been taken up with the same mindless crap that they always are, although it's been particularly stressful this week. As we move more and more towards a proper implemention of MRP it means that there is a lot more prepatory work for me to do, especially helping to design a platform for stock and production reconciliation. If they'd only bite the bullet and go out and spend the money on a proper package such as Movex on the AS/400 or similar, rather than trying to design a platform around software we already have in place. The initial cost would be fairly high, but the benefits of doing it would soon become apparent. Although, the flexibilty of our production process might be a bit harder to cater for on a bespoke system. Ah well, no real point griping about a decision that will be taken far above my head.
Other happening of note during my week was the seperation of 2 of my good friends. It's a shame really, 7 years down the drain, and nothing to show for it. Although they'd been together for 7 years they'd been drifting apart for the last 2 years or so and have decided to call it a day. I always think it's sad when it happens, but, hopefully they'll both come out the other side of the seperation and move on with grace and dignity.
Looking ahead, it's a shade under 5 weeks until I head down country and spend a nice long weekend with Alley & Babs. Splog will also be there, although in his real world persona of Mr Mojo San!! Seriously Rich, I still think the MojoDojo would've been fun...
