Well, yesterday was polling day in Copeland, although truth be told due to the fact that Copeland ran an all postal elections ballot papers were being returned from mid-April onwards.
I attended the count last night, it's interesting if you have an interest in politics, although most people will probably find the proceedings tedious. Anyway, I didn't win the ward I was standing for, didn't really expect to, it's a very strong Labour held ward, but we did make inroads, I polled aroung 12% of the votes. County Council elections take place in 2 years time, will try my luck then, and if not, the next local election years are in 4 years time; at which point I'll hopefully have a more prominent presence in the community due to my work on the town council.
The day has finally arrived for me to take my Athlon out of service and replace it with a Barton. I'm going to get an IT friend to perform the upgrade because I just don't have the time spare to do it and soak test the system. Will drop it off to him this evening and collect it after work on Monday. In the interim I'm going to be using my spare PC, a P3-500, bit of a drop, but it does the job more than adequately. Not going to be playing any games on it, just some net time...
Going to go see X-Men 2 tonight, will let you know what I think at some point...
